William Brereton, 2nd Baron Brereton

William Brereton, 2nd Baron Brereton (28 February 1611 – April 1664) was the son of Sir John Brereton (the 4th son and heir apparent to his grandfather Sir William Brereton, 1st Baron Brereton) of Brereton Hall and Anne Fitton (the daughter of Sir Edward Fitton). He was baptised on 8 March 1611 in Gawsworth, Cheshire, England.

His father having died in 1629 Sir William succeeded his grandfather as 2nd Baron Brereton of Leighlin on 1 October 1631. He held the office of Member of Parliament for Cheshire between 1661 and 1664. He died in April 1664 and was buried on 21 April 1664 in Brereton, Cheshire, England.

He married Lady Elizabeth Goring, daughter of George Goring, 1st Earl of Norwich and Mary Neville. They had 10 children including a son William.
